Coconut nectar is a quintessential product, hand-collected from coconut blossoms (NOT HONEY), by the traditional blossom massaging and nectar harvesting techniques of the Khmer in Tra Vinh. Coconut nectar is a product that is rich in minerals, pure natural, has a low glycemic index, is very suitable for children, provides stable energy for diabetics, dieters, vegetarians, sports players and protects human health.

its interesting numbers

2013

In 2013, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) certified the coconut nectar harvesting sector as a sustainable one.

PB121

The kind of coconut to harvest nectar is called Mawa (its scientific name is PB121). The appropriate age to harvest coconut nectar is from 3-15 years old.

13 blossoms/year

A coconut tree produces 1 blossom every 25 days and 13 blossoms per year on average.

25 days

A coconut blossom is harvested continuously in 25 days, equivalent to 25 - 30 liters of coconut blossom and is harvested alternately from one blossom to another.

3 – 5 times

Growing coconut trees for nectar harvest helps increase the economic value of the current coconut farmers by 3 to 5 times.

Mangrove

Coconut trees can withstand the Salinity level of 4 - 10‰, with high adaptability to climate change.

Graduated with a Master's degree in Food Technology from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, be the founder and bring Sokfarm coconut nectar to the world. 

Sokfarm means Happy Agriculture with the desire to increase economic value and improve livelihoods for coconut farmers in Tra Vinh, and create a chain of products that bring health to consumers.

In 2013, FAO reported that coconut blossom sugar is the most sustainable sweetener in the world. This is based on 3 factors: improving livelihoods, sustainability of consumption trends, and adaptation to climate change and environmental protection.

Creative startup ideas for youth in the countryside 2020

On November 14, 2020, in Da Lat, the project "Producing and processing Sokfarm products from coconut nectar" excellently surpassed 346 projects from 56 provinces and cities across the country and won the Champion of the competition "Creative startup ideas for youth in the countryside 2020" organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Business Studies and Assistance Center (BSA).
